Ornamental Panel in Exeter

It’s quite rare that we are asked to provide a new roof service so when these opportunities arise, we try to complete them to the best of our abilities. We love to add subtle details whilst maintaining that modern look.

This small garage conversion is due to be a dwelling for our client’s mother. Coming from Egypt to live full time in Exeter will be quite the contrast so we wanted to make her feel welcomed by a well-executed roof on her new abode.

We supplied and fitted a first grade Spanish slate called Lousaval LV11 to the main elevation and two gable end walls, 2 new centre pivot Velux rooflights and clay ridge tiles.

The gable ends are nailed fixed with an additional hook for belts and braces. The gable slating is above a large threshold and is in the prevailing wind, so we like to take extra precautions in instances like these.

We added two ornamental designs to the front gable end and were delighted that our clients and their mother loved it. We believe that vertical slate panels are the best place for ornamental work to be carried out. It lifts the mood of the darker slates and brings little flare to break up the field areas.
