Sensitive Cleaning of Historic Buildings

Where cleaning is required, we use low-impact, conservation-appropriate methods suitable for historic materials. This includes the use of the DOFF superheated steam system, widely recognised for its effectiveness and sensitivity.

Sensitive cleaning can be appropriate for:

  • Removal of biological growth and surface soiling
  • Cleaning of stone, brick, render and masonry
  • Preparation of surfaces prior to lime works or repairs
  • Reducing moisture retention and surface decay

All cleaning works are approached cautiously, with trial areas carried out where appropriate to ensure the protection of historic fabric.
