Here we have a detail to cover the barn wall plate from sight and provide an Eave support without the use of modern plastic materials. The architect asked me to form and install what I could to avoid the use of a fascia and a gutter. The lane adjacent to the barn sees heavy farm vehicle traffic and had previously suffered from ongoing damages to the guttering. So we came up with this idea to save an extra 4 inches of space for the tractors to pass. So far the detail has worked perfectly.
